The Biblical Mothers Deliver

The Challenge

With an upcoming release, this non-fiction book needed a portal for sales and further discussion on the material. Besides the book jacket, no artwork was available for use, so resources were limited. It was important to the author, a religious studies professor, that the site was educational as well as engaging.

The Idea

The questions explored in the book take center stage on the site, leading the viewer to want to learn more by purchasing the book. The design takes inspiration from museum websites. Public domain artwork represents the content, giving the site a biblical feel, while the grid layout suggests a text book quality. The site features, a popup menu, sliding text and images and illustrated icon buttons, give a modern flair. The pages build in relevance with timely images and content while keeping the antiquity feel and text book structure. A discussion page was created to guide interactions to Facebook where the author’s prompts will lead the conversation.

Client Quote
"Working with Mark was stress-free and productive right from the start. His expertise was always apparent in the way he asked about my goals and vision for my website, anticipated questions I might have throughout the process, and offered cool, creative visual and textual ideas that clearly reflected my own hopes for the site. Mark welcomed requests for changes and got them done quickly. I could not be happier with the work he did on my book website. I recommend him highly."
